The difference is the whole job.
Editing is invisible when it works, which makes it very hard to sell. So rather than describe it: drag the divider on any edit below and the raw frame slides over the delivered one.
Grade, sound, and above all length. Most footage that arrives here is three times longer than the thing anyone will actually watch, and deciding what to lose is the part that takes the experience.
Sintel
01 · Blender Foundation

A long-form film cut down to something that survives a feed. The grade does most of the work: the raw frames are flat by design so there is room to push them, and the short version keeps the two beats that carry the story rather than a summary of all of them.
Tears of Steel
02 · Blender Foundation

Live action with everything above the rooftops replaced. The difficult part is not the composite, it is matching the grade across shots filmed hours apart so the join never announces itself.
Spring
03 · Blender Studio

Cut for a landing page rather than a festival. Same footage, a third of the shots, and a grade warmed up two stops so it reads at thumbnail size instead of only on a calibrated screen.
Charge

Mostly an audio job. The picture changed very little; the mix is what makes the sequence land, which is the part clients are most often surprised by.

Short-form is the same job under a harder constraint: the first second decides whether the rest is watched at all. Scroll the rail and the phone plays whichever one is level with it.
Sprite Fright
Blender Studio
Horror-comedy short. Cut for the first three seconds, because that is all a feed gives you.

Agent 327
Blender Studio
Action beat pulled out as a standalone. No context needed, which is the test.

Big Buck Bunny
Blender Foundation
The one everybody has seen, recut. Familiar footage is the hardest to make anyone watch again.

Elephants Dream
Blender Foundation
Abstract, and deliberately so. Not every reel has to explain itself.

Tears of Steel
Blender Foundation
Live action and effects in the same frame, cut to thirty seconds.

Spring
Blender Studio
Quiet, slow, and still holds. Pace is a choice, not a default.
(When this is the wrong thing to buy)
All creativeIf the footage does not exist yet, editing is not what you need first — a shoot is, and paying an editor to rescue material that was never captured is the most expensive way to discover that. If the footage does exist and nobody has watched it end to end, start there: half of what arrives here turns out to contain a better film than the one it was commissioned for.
Where the finished thing goes is a separate decision. The organic side of it is search and social.
