SYNCAI

(About)

CHD, India

A studio built around handoffs that never happen.

Most agencies sell one slice of the work. A design shop hands a file to a developer who never met the marketer who has to rank the result. Every handoff loses something, and the client pays for it twice.

What that looks like in practice

We run three groups of work and they are meant to be bought together. Digital marketing covers search, social, video and the writing underneath all three. Ecommerce covers storefronts, the paid acquisition that fills them, and the unglamorous work of finding where sessions die after arrival. The rest is software, web and brand identity: the things that get built once and then have to be maintained by someone, usually somebody who has never met whoever built them.

Buying them separately is usually more expensive than it looks. The saving is real on each invoice and disappears in the coordination, because someone has to hold the brief while it moves between four companies, and that someone is normally the client. Running them together means the person choosing the typeface has already read what the page has to rank for.

If you would rather see output than description, the work is listed without invented numbers attached to it, and every service page states plainly when that service is the wrong thing to buy.

The people

Arjun Mehra

Founder

Runs scoping and sits on every first call, so the person who promises the work is the person who has to deliver it.

(How we work)

Four principles

House rules

01

One team, not a chain of vendors

The person choosing the typeface knows what the page has to rank for. The person writing the build knows what the campaign will spend on it.

02

A date, agreed before we start

Every engagement carries a written scope with a fixed end date, priced before work begins. Nothing moves later without you moving it.

03

Boring technology on purpose

Widely documented, widely hired for, still maintained in five years. If we hand a project to your in-house team, they can carry it without us.

04

We say no when it fits

Sometimes the honest answer is that you do not need an agency yet. We would rather say that than sell you a project you cannot use.
